Last week, Brian McKay discussed how strange it is for different generations to like Audio Adrenaline or Newsboys and be talking about completely different bands in his post "My Newsboys Can Beat Up Your Newsboys".
At the end of that column, we asked you, our beautiful and talented readers, to tell us which version of each of those bands were your favorites. Today, we share the results.
First, which version of the Newsboys did you prefer?
This question wasn't a tough one (and no, there weren't only 3 votes). No one preferred the early John James-led years. Michael Tait had a decent following, but quirky Peter Furler was far and away the top choice for Newsboys front man. Peter Furler is largely regarded as the face of the Newsboys, even today, as the original lead singer (then not for a few years, then leading again for several more).
Will we see a similar outcome for our next question? Let's find out.
Which version of Audio Adrenaline did you prefer?
In a surprising result, Kevin Max, who only lead the band for one album and tour, is seen by over half of you as leading the best version of Audio Adrenaline, followed closely by Mark Stuart, who led the band for about two decades, including when Kevin Max was still a member of DC Talk!
Now, we will admit, Adam Agee was not given a fair shot, as the first album with him at the helm doesn't even come out until May 5th, so all you've had to go on with him in one single from February and maybe some online previews of the new album.
But as for today, K-Max comes out on top, alongside Peter Furler. Two quirky individuals and spectacular vocalists.
Thank you to everyone who voted. Though the polls are technically closed, you can still cast your vote on the article linked at the top if you feel like your favorite has been cheated out of victory. It won't change what we've posted here, but it may make you feel better on the inside.
